Congress forgot Garibi Hatao and kept the poor as poor who are their vote bank. After 1971 Congress never had any slogan worthwhile or issues. They have been doing appeasement using the assassination of Indira & Rajiv to win election or sympathy generated due to arrest of Indira. Congress in the present context cannot think of issues that affect the people most or the issues that are dear for the people. Congress cannot articulate on the construction of Ram Temple, cannot accept abrogation of Article 370, cannot gulp the valor shown against China because it has an MOU with China, cannot accept Triple Talaq. What Congress loves like appeasement or dynasty politics or identity politics etc., do not gel with the public. Their ideas are outmoded and the new ideas of development they are not ready to accept. Hence 2024 will go the way of 2014 or 2019 for Indian National Congress. The Congress Party, post 2019 is in terminal decline. A little wrong push will collapse it like a pack of cards. But even in the darkest hour of its history, the Congress can think of a future with a well devised strategy.
