That depends on what you mean by uniforms looking bad. The camouflage field uniforms that look ill fitting and sloppy are supposed to be that way. Now, the army has somehow adopted the lazy mentality that these uniforms should be worn outside of the field or training environments and that changing clothes is too much effort. This changed with the idea that somehow wearing the same clothes as people in combat shows solidarity with them and makes you remember that we are an army at war. The problem with that is that it erodes at the professional image and eventually becomes permanent. As a result, soldiers no longer know how to wear the dress uniforms, and NCOs and Officers don’t know how to inspect them properly. They seem untucked and sloppy, compared to the Marines that wear class C and B uniforms regularly for duty instead of once or twice a year.
