Sure film doesn’t age? Mmhm. Film is actually way better than digital for long term storage. Assuming you keep it cool and dry, film doesn’t change. Period. Yeah yeah, tape formats like VHS do deteriorate, but tape isn’t film. Digital does deteriorate. All digital formats suffer from some sort of deterioration. Disk based storage, solid state storage, it all breaks down over time. The best that’s been achieved so far is 50 years or so (guesses, hasn’t actually been tested for obvious reasons) on highly specialized and expensive disks. You also have to worry about formats changing. Go get a hard drive from twenty years ago and plug it into a modern computer. Doesn’t work? Yeah, that’s a problem.
