That sounds improbable to me. But without knowing what country you live in, I don’t think anyone can give you a definitive opinion. Under English law there is some precedent. Some years ago a lady married into the Rothschild family and few years later there was an acrimonious divorce. The family tried to sue to make her change her name back and stop using the name “Rothschild” and they were unceremoniously thrown out by the courts. They held that not only could she continue to use her married name if she wanted to, but if any other person wanted to change their surname to Rothschild then they would be legally perfectly entitled to do so.
