Jesus is thought to be God the son, the second person of the trinity of the same substance as the father.. And became man.. that is took on a human nature. Mary is mother of the man Jesus… who is also God and therefore in that sense Mary is the mother of God. Jesus is God. He was God for eternity which means he was God at the time of conception. Mary gave birth to Jesus, therefore she gave birth to God. Now it is important to explain what this does not mean. It does not mean that Mary created God. At least they admit that Jesus was God in the flesh, which is absolutely correct: “Every living soul belongs to me, the Father as well as the Son”(the Son is Jesus) – Ezekiel 18:4 “No one has seen God, but God the One and Only who is at the Father’s side” – John 1:18
