In one of the greatest athletic accomplishments in sport history, Diana Nyad swam without any competitors from Cuba to Florida. She completed the 103 miles in 53 hours. Rules prohibited her from direct contact with her support boats and crew. She could not leave the water for food or nature breaks. She was 60 years old at the time. It was an incredible performance by any standard.
