The key, for me, is that these articles do not link to a scientific study . The second website did link to an article on walnut extract: Walnut Phenolic Extract and Its Bioactive Compounds Suppress Colon Cancer Cell Growth by Regulating Colon Cancer Stemness When you read the article, you find that the walnut extract reduced growth of cancer cells in culture by 25%. IOW, the cells grew at a rate of 75% of that of untreated cells. The concentrations of the pure compounds, BTW, were hundreds of times in excess of what you can get by eating walnuts. This is not “killing”, but slowing growth. The main focus of the study was using a sub-population of a cell line HCT116to be cancer stem cells. I note that they never did the assay necessary to demonstrate that the cells actually are cancer stem cells.
