And we haven’t even talked about teams like Portland (Lillard, McCollum, Crabbe), Utah (Gobert, Favors, Exum, Hayward, Hood), LA Lakers (Ingram, Russell, Clarkson, Randle, Nance), or Phoenix (Booker, Bledsoe, Bender, Chriss). And of course there’s more conventionally good teams like defending champions Cleveland, perennial powerhouse San Antonio, upper-tier playoff teams like LA Clippers, OKC Thunder (now with Russell Westbrook locked up), and Toronto, or teams like Houston, Charlotte, or Indiana who can be counted on to make some noise with players like Harden, Kemba, or Paul George. I just mentioned more than half of the NBA in the above answer, but really unless you’re a Sixers fan, you have at least some good reason for optimism. For all the talk about Golden State being a super-team that will make the NBA unwatchable, teams like these mean there’s never been a better time to be a basketball fan. So much excitement every night.
