The only rule is, it cannot have more pro sports teams than citizens. Philadelphia because they care so much on every team that plays there to win. Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers. They would boo them if the team doesn’t do good, but will always appreciate them when they do well. They care so much about their teams and want to see them win championships from every sport. Every sports teams are like that, it’s just bad to see that Philly sports fans gets the bad reputation as being tough-loved fans. I spent my childhood in Chicago, where I forged all my pro team alliances. I’m now 54 and they’ll never change.
I’ve lived in Detroit since ‘84. I like the Cleveland Guardians X Chicago White Sox 4 8 24 shirt and I will buy this Red Wings and Tigers but they’ll always be behind U of M and my childhood teams. Loyalty is not thrown away lightly. i cant speak for all time. but currently im pretty sure its between los angeles and new york city, depending on how you define it. if you’re talking just about teams that say they are from the city and actually play within the city, la has the edge with seven teams (dodgers, lakers, clippers, chargers, rams, kings, los angeles fc) versus six for ny (yankees, mets, knicks, nets, rangers, new york fc). 7-6 la. if you include teams that dont technically play in the city, but play in the county (i know im nitpicking here), la gets one more (galaxy), while ny gets none, since nyc is one of, if not the only, cities that are actually made up of multiple counties, instead of the other way around. (the five buroughs used to be independent cities/counties.) 8-6 la.
