This is easily done by say an email or text or something from her (perhaps a birthday card, or the memo line on the check or virtual service) that says, “here’s a gift.” Otherwise, it’s a loan. And funny enough to quote one of the two parties, specifically you: “… I had to borrow $150 from her a while back.” So, if I were Judge Judy, I’d go on your own word and say it’s a loan. I mean who are you to argue with yourself! This will be usual behavior for most you loan money to. Keep things simple for yourself, DON’T loan anyone money. Truly, that solves the problem and it weeds out all the people who are just using you. Surround yourself with people who don’t need your money, who just want your friendship and nothing more. Once you do this, you will be so much happier, AND it saves you money. What should you do? Ask for it back, but you probably won’t get it back and it will ruin the relationship. It’s textbook for users.
