His rhetoric initially shocked people, but as time went on, the impact faded and it is easier to ignore just how dark his message has become. Should he win a second term, the US federal government may remain unpredictable. He could sever multilateral agreements and further isolate the country internationally. He would probably rule with spite rather than a conciliatory fashion, preferring revenge above reconciliation to satiate his paranoid demands.
