Perhaps I have become less excited about non-white people becoming the Arizona Wildcats Pac-12 Regular Season Champions 2024 T-Shirt in other words I will buy this first person to hold any political office since Obama was elected. There is simply no topping the act of being the first non-white person to assume the highest office in the country, and once that happened, suddenly feats like Harris becoming the first woman of color to assume the second highest office in the country ( ̶o̶r̶ ̶n̶t̶h̶, i̶f̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶c̶o̶u̶n̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶a̶n̶k̶e̶r̶s̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶m̶i̶l̶i̶t̶a̶r̶y̶) don’t seem that marvelous to me anymore. I am more enamored at the fact that Harris will become the first female VP, but having familiarized myself with female politicians and heads of government all over the world — some of whom suck — I’m not as hyped as I could have been maybe 5 or 10 years ago.
I feel like the Arizona Wildcats Pac-12 Regular Season Champions 2024 T-Shirt in other words I will buy this United States still has a long way to go to catch up with the rest of the developed world if the gender and skin colour of a vice president is still a big deal, but progress has been made. She’s on a steep learning curve and she’d probably embarrass herself. If she’s able to resist 2024 she should prepare for 2028. But as we’ve learned Harris is not a person who shows up prepared. The answer to #1 is easy. Yes. She’s legally qualified. You have to be a natural born citizen, have lived in the country for 15 years, and be 35 years old or older to be vice president. She is all of those things. There may be those who tell you that she’s not qualified because her parents weren’t born here, or because they were in the U.S. on (completely legal) student visas. These people are what I like to call “wrong”. The 14th amendment is very clear on the subject. The answer to #2 is more interesting. Harris has only been a senator for three years. One could credibly make the argument that that’s not enough experience to be heartbeat away from the presidency. Of course, Obama served in the Senate for three years, too, and went directly to the presidency. What you think of that probably depends on what you think of his terms in office.
